Karen Darke invited us to Rio de Janeiro to film and follow her journey during the Paralympic games 2016 representing the British Paralympic team. We had great success thanks to the crowdfunding and sponsorship platform pledge sports. Karen won Gold and the result is a selected documentary by different sports film festivals. At the festival in Tignes the film won 'best short documentary'.
This film captures the atmosphere and the race action during the Paralympic games. It shows how both athletes Karen Darke and Hannah Dines of the GB Team felt before, during and after these intense competition days. Their thoughts are mixed with images that show the contrasts between the everyday atmosphere of the locals, sunbathing or surfing at Pontal beach, whilst alongside them, the paracycling athletes fought for their best during the races. It raises questions of never giving up, of self-belief, and of faith or fate.
This film is a non-profit project, made possible thanks to funding by supporters through the PledgeSport.org and Indiegogo.com crowdfunding platforms. Many thanks to all our supporters who believed in this project and spread a little seed of motivation to never ever give up.
